1668 Sussex W.48, Chichester, Thomas Godleman, Halfpenny Token, N.5201
A nice example of this 17th century token which is much nicer than the Norweb specimen. Worn but well detailed.
O: THOMAS GODLEMAN around beaded inne circle, a tree within.
R: IN CHICHESTER 1668 around beaded inner circle, HIS HALFE PENNY TGC within.
This token is listed in Dickinson as Sussex 48 and in Norweb as N5201. I would grade this token Fine (Sheldon VF30). I have provided high-resolution close up photos so you can decide on a grade for yourself.
For uncertified coins I provide a grading opinion using both the UK descriptive system and the Sheldon scale (based on ANA Grading Standards and/or PCGS Photograde) which will be better known to my US customers. I offer a grading opinion as a courtesy, but please examine the high resolution close up photos carefully and decide on a grade for yourself.
