Description
ND Southwark W.320, Montague Close, K/RI At The Horseshooe, Farthing Token, N.-
A nice example of this very rare 17th century token which was absent from the Norweb collection. Worn but reasonably well detailed. Presented with old collector’s ticket.
O: AT THE HORSESHOOE around a horseshoe.
R: IN MOVNTAGVE CLOSE around cable inner circle, K over RI within.
This token is listed in Dickinson as Southwark 320, in Everson as E.737 and is not listed in Norweb. I would grade this token Fine (Sheldon VF25). I have provided high-resolution close up photos so you can decide on a grade for yourself.
For uncertified coins I provide a grading opinion using both the UK descriptive system and the Sheldon scale (based on ANA Grading Standards and/or PCGS Photograde) which will be better known to my US customers. I offer a grading opinion as a courtesy, but please examine the high resolution close up photos carefully and decide on a grade for yourself.
