Description
ND Low Countries/Germany, Uniface Brass Coin Weight, Edward IV Ryal
A nice example of this scarce brass coin weight for an English Ryal coin. Produced in the Low Countries or Germany, this is an apparently unpublished variety. For similar see Withers, Coin Weights Of Europe, Vol 2, Page 131. Worn but well detailed. Weight 112.6 grains.
O: Ship sailing from right to left, E above stern at right.
R: Plain.
I would grade this piece Good Fine (Sheldon EF40) but I have provided high-resolution close up photos so you can decide on a grade for yourself.
For uncertified coins I provide a grading opinion using both the UK descriptive system and the Sheldon scale (based on ANA Grading Standards and/or PCGS Photograde) which will be better known to my US customers. I offer a grading opinion as a courtesy, but please examine the high resolution close up photos carefully and decide on a grade for yourself.
