1664 Leicestershire W.94, Melton Mowbray, Arthur Cloudsley, Farthing Token, N.2891
A scarce 17th century token issued by a Melton Mowbray candle maker. Worn with surface deposits, but otherwise reasonably well detailed.
O: ARTHVR CLOVDSLY around stick of candles.
R: IN MELTON 1664 around beaded inner circle, C over AB within.
This token is listed in Dickinson as Leicestershire 94 and in Norweb as N.2891. I would grade this token Good (Sheldon VG8). I have provided high-resolution close up photos so you can decide on a grade for yourself.
