Description
ND (1723) German States, Konstanz, AR 15 Kreuzer countermark on 1679 15 Kreuzer
A nice example of this scarce coin with city arms countermark. Usually found on 1715 15 Kreuzers of Charles VI, this host is the same denomination but of Leopold II and is only the second example I have seen. Worn but reasonably well detailed with visible date and clear countermark. Weight 4.37g.
O: Saints Pelagius and Conrad behind city arms.
R: Crowned imperial eagle, 15 on breast, titles of Leopold II in legend. City arms counterstamp.
I would grade the host coin About Fine (Sheldon F15) and the countermark Good Fine (Sheldon EF40). I have provided high-resolution close up photos so you can decide on a grade for yourself.
