ND Dublin, Geale & MacBride Halfpenny Token, D&H Dublin 309bis, W.1813

A nice example of this rare halfpenny which appears to date from the turn of the 19th century. Worn but well detailed. Presented with old collector’s envelope (with sixpence purchase price annotated).

This token is listed in Dalton & Hamer (Davisson 1990 edition onwards) as Dublin 309bis, and in Withers & Withers, British Copper Tokens 1811-1820 as W.1813 where it is rated RRR=Extremely Rare. I would grade this token Good Fine (Sheldon EF45) but I have provided high-resolution close up photos so you can decide on a grade for yourself.
