Description
1658 Cambridgeshire W.1, Abington, Thomas Smith, Farthing Token, N.364
A lovely example of this scarce 17th century token which is at least as nice as the Norweb example. Lightly worn and well detailed.
O: THOMAS SMITH 58 around cable inner circle, S over TM within.
R: ABINGTON GROCER around cable inner circle, ship and crescent within.
This token is listed in Dickinson as Cambridgeshire 1 and in Norweb as N.364. I would grade this token Good Very Fine (Sheldon AU53). I have provided high-resolution close up photos so you can decide on a grade for yourself.
For uncertified coins I provide a grading opinion using both the UK descriptive system and the Sheldon scale (based on ANA Grading Standards and/or PCGS Photograde) which will be better known to my US customers. I offer a grading opinion as a courtesy, but please examine the high resolution close up photos carefully and decide on a grade for yourself.
