Description
1879 London, Camden, Edinburgh Castle Museum, Thomas Middlebrook, Silvered Brass Ticket, W.3051, D&W 69/178
A nice example of this scarce advertising token issued by a numismatist, publican and museum proprietor. Middlebrook was landlord of the Edinburgh Castle public house where he displayed his collection, including five auks’ eggs, the Chesapeake flag and the Balaclava bugle. Apparently unrecorded in silvered brass. Worn but reasonably well detailed with much silvering remaining. Presented with old collector’s envelope.
